Some programs have only short terms and some can offer very long terms. They offer asset-based lending as opposed to credit-based lending, so they can be more creative with their loan programs because the loans are backed by collateral.įMC is very flexible on loan terms. Barcelona is a GREAT city! So much to see and do. Our favourite area though was the marina and all around the sea-front for lovely walks and sitting in the sunshine. There is a metro station in this area too so it is possible to use public transport very easily. There are some shops and restaurants near to the hotel (next street) and we ate or drank locally several times. The roof top pool was our main reason for choosing this hotel but we never got into it! It was so small that if there was already a person or two in the pool you felt as if you were intruding! We tried several times but didn't bother in the end! We walked pretty much everywhere from the hotel-the marina and beach, the Sagrada Familia, Las Ramblas, the zoo etc, only using the metro for a visit up the to Olymipic stadiums and areas. Breakfast wasn't included in our stay but this was fine as we preferred to buy fresh fruit and pastries from one of the local shops and eat breakfast al-fresco in the park which is only a few minutes walk away through a lovely open space in front of the Arc de Triomphe! We spent lots of time in this area actually, it was lovely to sit and watch the world go by or for a late evening stroll. This was no bad thing given that we were happy to be staying well away from Las Ramblas! The hotel is quite modern and clean with a handy cold fridge in the room for keeping fruit and drinks cool! The staff were good but the language issue was a bit of a problem, especially as we had issues with the safe in our room (it didn't work in the first room-they moved us at our request as we wanted a working safe, i set it incorrectly in the second room and we had to wait for 2 days for it to be fixed! Having to leave our valuables in the safe at reception so lots of comings and goings which was a little inconvenient). We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights and found it to be a good base, if a little bit too far out of the way of the busiest areas of the city. It's a bit further from the Gothic Quarter and Las Ramblas than many other hotels, but we appreciated getting away from the main tourist areas. It's a 10-15 minute cab from the train station. (Not sure what was going on there.family feud, perhaps?) The location is good, roughly 10 minutes from the amazing Sagrada Familia (and the Bus Touristic stop nearby) and about 7 minutes from the nearest subway stop. The AC worked great (which you can't always count on in Europe.) and the room was quiet, save for the family next door who consistently slammed their door many times in the mornings. The room was quite large, by European standards, and modern and well appointed. Other hotels wouldn't have been staffed, leaving us with no room! The service at the desk was friendly and helpful. The hotel is a good size and keeps the reception desk open around-the-clock-which was lucky for us, as our train was delayed and we didn't arrive until 2am. We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Barcelona.
